 Dearest Asher,

You are most likely not expecting a letter from me, and thus I apologise if it is unwelcome. I had wished to try to bring you a gift, and I would certainly buy you fruit back in London, but as for something from this trip, I will offer this letter.

I would like to offer a thank-you for coming to the small party, or 'Party' as Narciso wrote it. I was not expecting such a large gathering and it was very thoughtful for you to attend. After singing with the Commodore, I do not remember all too much of the night, but I think in some way that means that it was successful.

I know that you like animals so I will tell you that my nephew Robert now has a 'Pyrenean Mountain Dog'. A large, thick-furred, cream-coloured creature, as big as he, himself, is! Her name is Hattie. I cannot keep-up with the them, but I have enjoyed sitting and watching her and the children race and tear about. I am not sure that I have mentioned my niece and nephew to you before. Flora is 5 years-old, and Robert is 8 years-old. I can tell you more on them if you wish, but I do not wish to send you a letter rambling about them if you do not.

How is Teddy? I still have yet to meet him, and I have yet to introduce you to Saunder either. Saunder is my little brown bat. And how is Honoria and her own weasel Knives? 'Five, and a stiletto in the hair.' I think I am more fond of the teasing than the information itself. I should mention that I am rather glad that you and her have been getting-along well. I am sorry I was not much help during the Feast of the Exceptional Rose if you had needed it. But I do hope that the dance went well.

I hope that all is well, with you, and with everything. Or at least as well as things can be in The 'Neath.
